September saw Anne Moylan, one of our clinical nurse specialists, take on the role of team leader for Mesothelioma UK nurses across the south of the country, covering London, Wales, Cambridge, Oxford and Plymouth.
The role is funded by Mesothelioma UK and also by a local asbestos charity, Hampshire Asbestos Support and Awareness Group (HASAG).
Anne began her training in Portsmouth in 1981. In 1999 she joined the Respiratory Outpatients department as a staff nurse in clinic before being appointed as Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist in 2004.
Portsmouth and the surrounding area has a high incidence of mesothelioma and Anne began to specialise in the disease. She was appointed as a part-time clinical nurse specialist for mesothelioma in January 2014.
With increased funding, the full time team leader role became available and Anne successfully applied, starting in her new position on 26 September 2016.
