The MARS (Mesothelioma and Radical Surgery) 2 Study website has gone live at www.mars2.org.uk. The site provides a point of contact for patients, clinicians and members of the public who would like to find out more about the study and about Mesothelioma.
MARS 2 has been designed to assess the treatment of mesothelioma within two groups of patients: one group who have surgery (pleurectomy decortication) and the other group who do not have surgery. The ultimate aim of the study is to determine whether or not surgery can influence length or quality of life.
The MARS 2 study is funded by Cancer Research UK and is being managed by an expert team of who are experienced in treating and caring for patients with mesothelioma. Entry to the study is available at a number of hospitals in the UK.
MARS 2 is now recruiting patients throughout the UK so if you would like further information, please either contact the team who are managing your care or the Mesothelioma UK helpline:
